5FM Unveils Fresh New Line-Up

5FM has unveiled its 2026 on-air line-up, introducing bold new voices, refreshed weekend energy and a deeper connection to the fast-moving world of South African youth culture.

The new line-up strengthens 5FM’s role as the country’s leading youth platform, bringing listeners a mix of fresh talent, everything-you-need-to-know social media snapshots, creator-driven content and shows that reflect and Ampli5 real life in real time. It’s not just radio, it’s the complete SA youth energy hotspot.

Some exciting changes included the following:

5 Mid Mornings with Karabo, weekdays from 9h00 to 12h00, now with Karabo Ntshweng at the helm, blends music, conversation, and high-energy audience interaction, reflecting the fast-paced lives of young professionals and students – a fresh, relatable voice balancing ambition, wellness, career growth and socially active living.

5 Lunch with Lula Odiba and Nadia Romanos, weekdays from 12h00 to 15h00, welcomes the popular 5 Listening Sessions, where all Mzansi’s favourite artists perform their newest and biggest tracks live, dropping brand-new music for a first play, spilling the beans on top-secret announcements and sharing all the inside info on what’s happening in their lives and careers.

Sundays between 10h00 and 14h00 marks an epic shift in 5FM’s weekend youth offering with The Sunday Social Club on 5 with Harrison Mkhize, a show that will be the definitive pulse of all the people, things, topics and events that Mzansi’s trend-setting youth HAVE TO know. It brings social media to your radio with a weekly wrap-up of the latest in news, music, trends, as well as your favourite creators and influencers. It takes Sunday chill time, adds some 5FM spice and makes it the one weekly all-things-youth catch-up you CANNOT miss.

Weeknights also get a fresh spark as 5 Nights, Mondays to Thursdays between 19h00 and 22h00, is now hosted by Jodell Tantij. It’s a fresh, youthful night show driven by music discovery, culture, and conversations that keep listeners’ fingers on the pulse of SA youth vibe. The show also introduces a new feature, PH & Friends, airing 19h30–20h00, where DJ PH, a familiar face at 5FM, makes a welcome return to host exclusive mixes and conversations with some of the country’s hottest DJs.

Late nights continue with 5 After Hours with Boipelo Mooketsi, Mondays to Thursdays from 22h00 to 01h00. A red-hot, late-night slot with trending and even taboo topics, top tunes and the perfect ‘wound down, but spiced up’ energy.

Fridays ignite with Party with PH from 18h00 to 22h00, where DJ PH sets the tone for the weekend – kicking off your Friday night with the biggest bangers, party-starting hits and high-octane mixes.

Weekend late nights get a new flavour with Taste the Weekend with Taste Champagne, Saturdays and Sundays from 22h00 to 1h00, a late-night weekend soundtrack of power mixes, bold personality and the perfect vibe to ease you into the early hours.

The station also salutes and honours those who have been a vital part of 5FM’s growth and successes. The likes of Roger Goode, Stephanie Be and Leah Jazz have played a major role in shaping the brand and connecting with audiences nationwide. They move on to exciting new opportunities, some within the SABC.
