The African music scene has never been more exciting. The world is finally sitting up and noticing the incredible talent to come out of the country and today, Nigerian superstar WizKid announced that he signed a a multi-album worldwide deal with RCA Records/Sony Music International cementing Sony Music’s commitment towards making Africa a musical repertoire center of the world.
WizKid is easily one of the biggest artists on the continent. His take on Afropop is incredible and he has made music that has connected with millions of fans around the world. To celebrate his signing, the singer has released ‘Sweet Love’ as his first single under the label and the one which will kick-start his international career.
The accompanying video highlights WizKid’s immense popularity throughout Africa and the pandemonium that follows him whenever he goes on tour. Wizkid said that the song is “an introduction” to those who don’t know him yet. The visual is made up from content of my live shows throughout Africa, which will “give my fans a real insight and feel of me performing back home.”
The song is the lead single off his upcoming album and the single is currently available across all digital music service providers. This is a massive move for WizKid and I’m really excited to watch his career over the next few years. Make us proud!
