British singer/songwriter Zak Abel is on the road to superstardom. He made waves with the release of the hit track ‘Everybody Needs Loves’ last year and has two EPs to his name. Now, he has just released ‘Unstable’, the lead single off his upcoming debut album ‘Only When We’re Naked’.
The song has a strong tropical feel-good sound to it pulsated with a strong vocal and banging percussions. The song is simply but cleverly produced but each element is effective and has a very necessary part in the song. The song is the perfect summer anthem and it’s a sound no one has really been tapping into. What’s really interesting about the song is its African influence. The chorus is filled with Maskandi sounds and gives this international track a feeling of home.
Unsurprisingly, Zak also opted to film the track’s music video right here in South Africa. The producer jetted off to Cape Town to record an aesthetically pleasing video which shares the sentiment behind the song’s message and sound and sees the producer alongside other young adults living their best life in one of the world’s greatest cities. I have a feeling this is going to be the song that really puts Zak Abel on the map.
