South African deep house duo Artwork Sounds teams up with Russell Zuma and CocoSA for “Inkulueko” – released as the inaugural single under OUT OF ORDER (OOO), a brand-new label initiative launched by Warner Music.
With Artwork Sounds dominating the exploding Amapiano scene in recent times, thanks to their masterful take on the globally flourishing genre – explained by Rolling Stone as “bright, jazzy dance music” – “Inkulueko” hears the duo effortlessly join forces with renowned talents Russell Zuma and CocoSA, serving undeniable artistic chemistry in what is sure to become another staple on the Amapiano scene the world over.
Fusing sunny, sweeping pad synths with alluring bass stabs and a soulful deep house groove, “Inkulueko” is a sensational introduction to the upcoming OOO: AFRO album from OUT OF ORDER.
Set to be unveiled on November 4th, OOO: AFRO is an innovative new compilation album curated by the OUT OF ORDER label in partnership with Warner Africa. OOO: AFRO is the first in a series of albums to be curated and released by OUT OF ORDER, with the OOO: AFRO record intending to spotlight a myriad of talent ranging from household names to up-and-comers across the African region.
OUT OF ORDER – a newly launched label under Warner’s Emerging Markets Division – defines itself as “a diverse collection of sounds in no particular order” which will highlight artists, music, cultures, and communities from different corners of the globe. Poised to feature ten original records from a particular region that will be dance-leaning in the genre, several more compilations are currently in the works by the label; each themed OOO album will launch in partnership with respective local Warner teams, supporting each region’s musical talent ranging from emerging names to chart-topping stars
As a key element of OOO’s collections is to spotlight the talent of all mediums from the focused region, the OOO: AFRO artwork has been designed by rising Ghanaian designer Nyahan Tachie-Menson. Trippy and psychedelic in appearance as a nod to the originators of Afrobeat, the rhythmic nature of the designs aims to reflect the signature vibes the African music scene has become globally known for. Tachie- Menson shared: “There’s so much going on with the music emerging from individuals on the continent; something we can all relate to is the vibrancy of the music, and that’s what I captured here.”
With “Inkulueko” marking a significant moment for both Warner’s Emerging Markets team and the African music scene, stay tuned for the second single from OOO: AFRO on October 28th as well as the full compilation officially launching on November 4th.
