South African Superstars Uncle Waffles And Kyle Watson To Perform At Coachella

Mzansi is set to represent in a big way at the upcoming Coachella music festival taking place in California, United States this April as both Uncle Waffles and Kyle Watson will be taking to the stage.

Both acts will perform on Friday 14 and 21 April as the festival reveals its official 2023 line-up.

“Crying … vomiting … screaming,” Uncle Waffles shares as she confirms the news on her social media. The 22-year-old DJ has shot to superstardom since the release of her debut single ‘Tanzania’ – and even got a shout out from Drake.

Meanwhile, Kyle has also been making major waves around the world. The DJ has been performing around the globe and is excited to make his Coachella debut after previously being booked in 2020. “Covid screwed me in 2020 when I was first supposed to play
Coachella. Can’t wait to finally get the chance this year,” he says.

2023 isn’t the first time local talent took to the Coachella stage. DBN Gogo, Major League DJs, DJ Black Coffee and Moonchild Sanelly have all performed at the festival over the past few years.

This year’s festival is set to be the most diverse yet as Bad Bunny becomes the first Latin artist to headline the festival while Blackpink become the first K-Pop act to headline.
