ULTRA South Africa, the continent’s premier electronic dance music festival, has unveiled the star-studded Phase 1 lineup for its 2024 edition. ULTRA South Africa 2024 will take place on Friday, March 1 in Cape Town at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse, and on Saturday, March 2 in Johannesburg at the Expo Centre at Nasrec.
Leading the charge in the first phase of artist announcements, Ultra South Africa is proud to announce that international heavyweights Skrillex, Afrojack, Steve Aoki and W&W will all be returning to South Africa to headline the 2024 edition of the festival while Vintage Culture will be performing at Ultra South Africa for the very first time. Additionally, Ultra South Africa is excited to confirm that South African superstars Major League DJz and Shimza will be bringing their distinctive approach to African dance music to the festival, adding an extra layer of excitement to this year’s stage.
Skrillex, the master of sonic innovation, returns to Ultra South Africa to set the stage ablaze with his genre-defying beats and mind-bending drops. Meanwhile, Afrojack is set to unleash a maelstrom of energy and give South African fans an unforgettable performance. His dynamic stage presence, combined with a slew of chart-toppers, will have the dancefloor in euphoria.
Steve Aoki, the legendary showman and crowd-surfing cake connoisseur, needs no introduction. His infectious energy is bound to ignite Ultra South Africa, delivering a high-voltage performance filled with his signature cake-throwing madness and an eclectic mix of beats. W&W, the dynamic duo known for their progressive and trance anthems, will take festival-goers on a sonic odyssey through the euphoric realms of electronic music. Finally, Vintage Culture, the Brazilian sensation, is set to bring his unique fusion of deep and tech-house sounds to South African audiences for the very first time at Ultra South Africa in 2024. A powerhouse performer, his music exudes sophistication and groove, promising an unforgettable dancefloor experience for South African Ultranauts in 2024.
