Tshego has never been an artist who puts himself in a box. He’s effortlessly flown through a variety of genres throughout his career – but his new track could easily be his catchiest yet. The star joins forces with AKA and Raspy for a new track titled ‘Choppin’’ – and we already have it on repeat.
The track comes just months after the star dropped his three-track EP ‘3 Piece’ and this time, Tshego blurs the lines between pop, Afrobeats and amapiano – a genre he likes to call AfroYano.
Tshego sings about partying with your significant other or meeting your crush at a gig on the track – something so many can relate to. The lyrical content makes this banger an even bigger party anthem as partygoers will certainly feel connected to the track while out on the jol.
‘Choppin’’ is an important release for Tshego as it shows his crossover capabilities while also shining a spotlight on his songwriting and production skills. Alongside his slick vocal work, this toe-tapping anthem also features a fire verse in classic Super Mega style from AKA as well as a catchy bridge to represent the ladies from newcomer Raspy.
It is also taking social media by storm after birthing the ‘Data Dance Challenge’.
