We previously reported that after signing The Voice South African winner Craig Lucas, Universal Music South Africa decided to sign a few more fan-favourites from the second season of M-Net’s popular reality show. Since then, finalist Caroline Grace released her debut single ‘Ek Bid Vir Jou’ and now, runner-up Josh Ansley, finalist Fatman and contestant Armand Joubert have all released their debut singles.
Josh Ansley
Josh was consistently a fan-favourite on the show and just missed the top spot on the show’s nail-biting grand finale. However, the star is here and is ready to give South Africa the music they have been waiting for. Today, the singer releases ‘1000 Nights’ as his official debut single. The song was produced by SAMA-nominated producer Denholm Harding and is an edgy pop ballad which lets Josh showcase his incredibly strong vocal.
Fatman
Throughout the competition, Fatman made a name for himself with his hilarious sense of humour and his fantastic vocal ability. He was easily one of the most unique contestants this season and audience members were hooked. Today, the star makes his exciting debut as he takes the Afrikaans route on his new single ‘Boom Baby’. Much like his personality, the song makes a statement. Fatman will make audiences laugh while impressing with his strong, unique voice.
Armand Joubert
Although he was booted off the competition fairly early, Armand Joubert built up quite a large fanbase. He has a strong, loyal fanbase and a fantastic voice so Universal Music South Africa didn’t hesitate to sign the star. Today, the singer releases his debut single ‘Should I’ which sees him take a pop approach. The song is laced with electronic and dance elements which is right on trend with his international counterparts. The song reminds me a lot of something Adam Lambert would release and is a great introduction to the potential Armand has. I look forward to seeing what else he has up his sleeve.
