South African comedian Trevor Noah is flying the South African flag high. Not only is he the host of Comedy Central’s popular talk show ‘The Daily Show With Trevor Noah’ but he recently became the first South African to sell out New York’s iconic venue Madison Square Garden. Now, he’s taken his career even further as he officially gets nominated for a Grammy Award.
The nominations list came out yesterday and saw newcomers Lizzo and Billie Eilish nab the most nominations but its Trevor Noah who has been making headlines with his ‘Best Comedy Album’ nomination for ‘Son Of Patricia’.
The star is nominated alongside Ellen DeGeneres, Jim Gaffigan, Aziz Ansari, and Dave Chapelle in the category.
“Today I woke up to the news that I’ve been nominated for a Grammy Award!!! I’m so grateful,” an excited Noah tweeted shortly after the news broke.
The 62nd Grammy Awards will be held on 26 January and will once again be hosted by Alicia Keys.
Congrats, Trevor! Mzansi is so proud of you.
