This story warms my heart! He used to be a car guard, but now, TRESOR, after the success of his latest single ‘Mount Everest’ which features rapper AKA, TRESOR has officially signed with one of the international record label Ultra Records which recently boasted smash hit singles such as Omi “Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)”, Kygo “Stole The Show” & Deorro x Chris Brown “Five More Hours”. The deal sees the label handle the release and distribution of his music to North & South America, Canada, United Kingdom, Asia, Australia as well as the Benelux region.
“I am excited beyond words with the deal we have just signed and I can’t wait for the world to hear the music,” TRESOR said. “As an African artist I’ve always believed that we make world class music right here at home and I am looking forward to this new global adventure potentially opening new doors for African musicians. I believe the world needs our sound now more than ever before.”
Raphael Benza, founder and Managing Director of Vth Season: “The Vth Season exist to take our artists’ music and brands to the world. By doing so we fulfil their dreams. It excites us to see TRESOR’s dreams of having the world listen to his music come true. It is well deserved and a compliment to our efforts to team up with Ultra Records/Sony International to take his music beyond the borders of Africa”.
TRESOR released his debut album ‘VII’ only last week and opened at #2 on the iTunes Pop Albums Chart in South Africa. The album includes collaborations with AKA, The Soil, Beatenberg and Khuli Chana. The Freddy Verando remix of his smash hit ‘Mount Everest’ became a #1 dance airplay hit in Italy and a song that reached #1 on the Global Shazam trending list.
This is once again proof that South African music is alive and well. I am so proud of TRESOR and all of his success and I look forward to seeing his career grow.
