Australian artist Tones And I has shared an official music video for her single “Can’t Be Happy All The Time.” Produced by Ghostie Studios & Tathata Productions and Directed by Grey Ghost (Jeremy Koren), the video is a reflection on Tones And I’s whirlwind year and her multifaceted relationship with success. Tones And I previously detailed the track explaining, “’Can’t Be Happy All The Time’ is a song about the struggles of rising to fame so quickly and dealing with a dramatic change in lifestyle — the good and bad the comes with it.”
Just last month Tones And I’s released her surrealistic video for “Bad Child” and debuted a stripped back piano performance of the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “Can’t Be Happy All The Time” and “Bad Child” mark the record-breaking and rising superstar’s first new music since the 2019 release of her debut EP, The Kids Are Coming, featuring the global smash “Dance Monkey.”
Today also marks the one-year anniversary of the release of Tones And I’s history making single “Dance Monkey.” It not only emerged as the most Shazam’ed single of all time, but has also become the 8th most streamed song of all time on Spotify and the most streamed song ever by a female artist on the platform.
