After a nine-year absence, Tima Reece has finally made her highly-anticipated return to the music scene as she finally drops her comeback album aptly titled ‘9’. Tima also released the title track as the lead single off the record – and it’s made people incredibly excited about her new music.
What stands out from the very first note is how much research Tima Reece has done over her recording process. Although she stays true to the R&B sound that she has built her career around, she has updated her sound with subtle hip-hop and trap elements which has made the single fit in perfectly to the 2016 music scene. The singer shows off her incredible vocal range and is incredibly versatile with the delivery on the track. This not only reminds fans how talented she is but it’s bound to impress audiences who may have not heard her music before.
Although this is Tima’s first album in nine years, she has still been very prominent in the local entertainment space. She has performed in shows, corporate events and the like under her birth name, Tia Herman. She has also lended her vocals and experience to shows such as Idols South Africa and The Voice South Africa as a vocalist and vocal coach but now, she’s back and ready to disrupt the local music scene.
“My desire to create music has always been a huge part of who I am. I’ve been writing songs since the age of 11 and I have a whole lot more to say now at the age of 33. I’ve been through a whole lot over the last 9 years, it’s time to pour it out into what I know best; music,” Tima says on her return to music. “My greatest influences are my children. I had a look at my past and realized that if I don’t pursue my dreams and give it my all, when the time comes for me to push my sons into their destiny, I would have no leg to stand on. I want to be a positive role model for them. A go-getter.” Tima’s new album ‘9’ is available at all good music stores and digital platforms now.
