She took the country by storm after winning the popular reality show SA’s Got Talent which saw her take home a recording contract with Sony Music Africa. She then made a splash with her debut single Hollywood Guy, and now she’s back with a brand new track. Tholwana has just dropped her new single Playing On My Mind, which serves as the second taste off her upcoming debut album due for release early in 2017.
Tholwana is an incredibly talented musician. The singer, who is currently in grade 11, wrote the song herself and gives a delivered a fun, mature yet youthful track with serves as a perfect follow-up single which shows a different side of the star. Tholwana has an amazing voice, and she uses this song to remind the country why she walked home with the SA’s Got Talent trophy. The chorus tends to be a little repetitive but it’s the song is catchy, clever and leaves an impression – everything a song needs for it to be a success.
The production on the song stands out. The guitar riffs and electronic beats are simple yet effective and fit in perfectly with the pop sound that is popular around the world. Tholwana is a breath of fresh air and brings her own individuality to the local market. She is definitely an artist to watch and I’m looking forward to her debut album.
