They met, they got married, they’ve gone on a road trip and now, they’re having a baby! There is always drama whenever the Kandasamys are around and after the success of the first three films, Netflix has confirmed that production has started on the fourth film in the franchise, which will see Prishen and Jodi jump into their biggest adventure yet – becoming parents.
The fourth film in the franchise will premiere in 2024 and will, once again, unpack the chaos between the two Indian families in the heart of Chatsworth who are brought together by their children’s love for each other and have to learn how to get along despite some hilarious mishaps and drama along the way.
According to the streaming platform, the best friends and mothers-in-law duo Jennifer (Jailoshini Naidoo) and Shanti (Maeshni Naicker) finally get what they’ve wanted – to be Durban’s favourite grandmothers as Jodi (Mishqah Parthiephal) and Prishen (Madhushan Singh) are having a baby! But that doesn’t mean that OG Aya (Marriam Bassa) is stepping out of her iconic role, now more than ever, Aya’s presence will be seen, heard and felt.
The hilarious Kandasamy family have entertained the world through the first three instalments, Keeping Up With The Kandasamys, Kandasamys: The Wedding, and Trippin’ with the Kandasamys, with the threequel debuting at number 1 on Netflix in South Africa when it launched on 4 June 2021.
