It’s pretty obvious that I am a super huge TV junkie and as Vuzu AMP launches today, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement because I think it’s exactly what our local TV industry needs. M-Net described the channel as “an amplified experience of the current VUZU channel, featuring local and international content. The channel is aimed at trendy DStv Premium customers.” The channel will feature brand new local and international content and some will be screened only days after their premiere in the United States of America. To celebrate the launch of the channel, I chose the top 5 shows I can’t wait to watch!
The Flash
It’s one of the most anticipated new shows of 2014 and The Flash has already premiered to incredible ratings in the USA. The show follows the high-speed adventures of Central City Police scientist Barry Allen who witnessed the murder of his mother at a young age and the unfair jail of his father for the crime. When an unexpected and devastating accident at the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator facility strikes Barry, he finds himself suddenly charged with the incredible power to move at super speeds. He uses this power to make sure no one finds themselves in an unjust situation like his family did. The Flash airs Tuesdays at 19h30.
The Real Joburg A-Listers
This is an exciting local spin-off of the hilarious The A-List: New York and The A-List: Dallas and is bound to get many heads turning. Although details are still being kept on the hush, the channel has promised a whole bunch of drama and turmoil. The channel also promises that the A-Listers they have for the show are the real deal with plenty of money to spend on the most ridiculous things. Sounds like a show the country has been craving for for ages!
The Originals
Following the incredibly intense first season, Vuzu AMP will be bringing back The Originals for a second season. The Original Vampire family swore it to each other a thousand years ago to remain together, always and forever. Centuries have now passed; tragedy and hunger for power have torn the Original Family apart. This time, The Originals will have more foes to battle than ever before and if it’s anything like the first season, it’s going to be a stand-out on the channel.
Pretty Little Liars
After four seasons, it seems trouble is far from over for the four estranged best friends. “A” still knows a lot of their secrets and after the fourth season’s finale, things can only get more interesting. At the end of the fourth season, the girls found out exactly what happened to Alison on the night that she died. Also, I still can’t believe that Mrs. DiLaurentis was murdered!
V-Entertainment
It’s become the biggest television platform for celebrity news throughout the country and Vuzu AMP has promised a bigger and better show. Presenters Lalla Hirayama, Dineo Moeketsi, Densie Zimba, Shelton Forbes and Cyprian Ndlovu will make sure that you receive your local and international celebrity fix from an updated studio. The show has been super successful and it only keeps on growing.
