‘Anti-Hero’ is on track to become Taylor Swift’s most commercially successful tracks of all time and as the song remains at the top of the charts around the world (it celebrates eight weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week), Taylor is gearing up for a new single release. The singer has picked ‘Lavender Haze’ as the second single from her tenth studio album.
The love song is about her relationship with actor Joe Alwyn and unpacks the tabloid scrutiny and rumours around the couple’s romance.
Taylor explained the meaning behind the song on her social media pages saying “Like, if you were in the lavender haze, then that meant that you were in that all-encompassing love glow – and I thought that was really beautiful. And I guess, theoretically, when you’re in the ‘Lavender Haze’ you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud.”
‘Lavender Haze’ is already a hit single and previously peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 the week after Taylor first dropped ‘Midnights’.
