Tatum Releases Her Powerful New EP ‘Bloodsport’ As She Details Tales Of A Toxic Relationship

Over the past few months, local musician Tatum has been working hard at delivering world-class music. After shooting to fame on the hit television series ‘Die Kontrak’, the star has been pushing her new material hard. Her relatability and honesty has been a hit with fans around the country catapulting her into stardom and now, after months of hard work in the studio, the singer drops her brand-new EP ‘Bloodsport’ this week which reinforces her lyrical narrative of a love-turned-toxic.

According to the star, the 5-track EP is a medley of love songs about the anguishing ambivalence of being in love with someone who is wholly destructive on every level and the inevitable pain that comes with love.

The project includes the star’s latest single ‘Unholy’ which features PHFAT. “Unholy is about a friend who grew up in a violent household and everyone used to judge her for misbehaving when they all knew how bad her circumstances were. Even though they all pretend to be such good and religious people, the most “holier than thou” are often the unholiest of all”, the singer explains when asked about the meaning of the dark pop tale.

As for the theme of the overall project, Tatum explains that “‘Bloodsport’ compares love to an epic battle where both parties walk away injured and bloody,” she says. “All love comes at a cost and there is always a devastating end to love whether it’s through a break-up or death, love always ends painfully.”

Besides ‘Unholy’, the project also includes previous singles ‘Broken’ and ‘Fever’ and is a compelling introduction to the magic that Tatum possesses. This is certainly an artist you should keep an eye on over the next few months.
