For over 15 years, South Africans have been entertained by rapper Reason and the unique, creative approach he has undertaken when it came to delivering hip-hop hits. However, with the rise of amapiano, the star rebranded as Sizwe Alakine and is ready to embark on a new chapter of his career, inking a global deal with Warner Music South Africa.
Sizwe Alakine who has already become a staple within the amapiano genre, via both features and his own singles, is working with the label as he prepares to release his first body of work within the genre.
‘I’ve been looking for the best deal for me and my legacy for the past 5 years. After all that I’ve done independently, I needed to work with a company that could do more for me than I could for myself,” Sizwe tells us. “Warner has committed to growing both the Reason and Sizwe Alakine brand in ways that now one else could; and I’m excited for the line of great music and creative we have lined up.
