I’m obsessed with Sia’s brand new album, This Is Acting, a collection of tracks she wrote for other artists which were ultimately rejected. The album’s lead single, Alive, which was rejected by Adele, did phenomenally well and the singer has chosen Cheap Thrills featuring Sean Paul as the official follow-up single. The track was originally planned to be included on Rihanna’s new album ANTI before she decided not to use the song.
The track starts off with an incredibly catchy beat which have a beautiful island flavour before Sia comes in on vocals which have a bit of a Caribbean twang to them. Rihanna made a huge mistake letting go of this track. The lyrics are clever, the song is catchy and it’s pretty unique and let’s be honest, RiRi needed a few more hits on ANTI.
Sia enlisted the help of her now long-time video collaborator, Maddie Ziegler, to star in the track’s official video which, like her previous videos, is heavily dance focused. Sia recently released a special version of the song with a featured verse from Sean Paul, however, the original solo version will be used to promote the song. The song is fantastic and we’re expecting this to be one of Sia’s biggest singles to date.
