Shawn Mendes has been topping charts all around the world with his latest smash hit ‘Stitches’ and he released his brand new album ‘Handwritten (Revisited)’ just last week. To celebrate the release of the album, he teamed up with Fifth Harmony member, Camilla Cabello, for a banging new single titled ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’.
The song, which is a cover of the Jacob Whitesides and Kelly Rowland track, is set to be another hit for the star. The duo took the song to a more acoustic, pop place than the original and they put on a personal spin on the track which is awesome to see. The track is about a girl who cheats on her boyfriend and, unfortunately, it’s something many can relate to. But no, this isn’t a depressing heart-breaking song. The beat is awesome and the two really manage to make you want to dance after hearing this.
I love when the two sing together. Their voices seem to blend together so perfectly. Naturally, the two were both excited and nervous about the release. “I think when you’re so invested in something, it’s our story, so when it’s brought out for people to hear, it’s our child being born,” Camila said. “And it’s like, are people going to like our child?”
