While she’s been relatively quiet on the music front, Shakira has had a massive year. She performed at the superbowl halftime show alongside powerhouse Jennifer Lopez and continues to deliver quality music and collaborations further cementing herself as one of the biggest Latin artists in history. Now, as 2020 comes to a close, Google has shared their list of most searched artists – and Shakira takes the top spot.
Shakira is followed by August Alsina, Adele, Doja Cat, Grimes, Van Halen, Lizzo, Tamar Braxton, Quando Rondo, and Tory Lanez. Shak is also the No. 7 most-searched person of the year, just above Tom Brady, Kanye West, and Vanessa Bryant.
The star currently appears in Black Eyed Peas’ brand-new single ‘Girl Like Me’ which is climbing up charts around the world.
