Review: Watershed – Watch The Rain

Watershed
Watch The Rain (Coleske Artists)

Breakdown: Watershed are legends in the local pop/rock space and the band doesn’t seem to be slowing down just yet. The band have just dropped their brand new album ‘Watch The Rain’ – their first full album since 2008’s ‘Staring At the Ceiling”

How Many Good Tracks: 11 of the 14.

What I Liked: A lot can change in seven years – especially in the music space and Watershed have definitely moved with the times. The album has a heavy country influence but paired with lead singer Craig Hinds’ unique vocal and style, it still has that signature Watershed sound. The band has worked hard on their songwriting and this album may just be their best record, lyrically. The strong vocal, brilliant arrangements and catchy hooks make this one of the band’s best album to date.

What I Didn’t Like: While I’m a fan of their new country route, I’m afraid that they haven’t catered for other Watershed fans with the enough of the pop sound we have come to know and love from the band. Oh, and don’t judge the album by the horrible music video below! Yikes!

Best Track: The River Song

Rating: 4/5
