A paradise world hidden from humanity, but can it be saved?
Starring: George Clooney and Britt Robertson
Plot: Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as “Tomorrowland.” Can this place, however, be saved along with planet Earth or are both places doomed forever?
Remarks: This film has gotten rave reviews from around the world, but honestly, I think Disney missed the mark with this one. Firstly, Disney usually have incredibly strong stories to tell and this one fell flat for me. Sure, it starts off with a glimpse of hope, but that turns around very quickly and, to be fair, becomes quite confusing to watch. It was a bit weird watching three people trying to save the world while no one else even knew that the world was in danger. The whole story is just a mess. That being said, if Disney know one thing, it’s to make beautiful films and this is certainly the case with Tomorrowland. The special effects were really great and they really made Tomorrowland look perfect. The chemistry between each and every actor in this film is also very authentic and Disney did a great job with that. George Clooney and Raffey Cassidy (who plays a young robot of sorts) shine in the film. There was also quite a bit of action in this film which was fantastic as well. I left the film really disappointed and I wouldn’t recommend rushing to the cinema for this one. Watching it on DStv is more than sufficient.
