Review: Lady Antebellum – 747

Lady Antebellum
747 (Universal Music)

Breakdown: It seems as if Lady Antebellum have just marched onto the music scene but their brand new album, titled ‘747’, is the band’s sixth! The album came preceded by the hit single ‘Bartender’ which did really well on country radio around the world. This time around Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood are back and what a banger of an album they have released!

How Many Good Tracks: 7 of the 11.

What I Liked: If there’s one thing Lady Antebellum know how to do, it’s record some of the best country music the world has ever seen! The band have done what the likes of Taylor Swift, Hunter Hayes and The Band Perry have done and that’s add a heavy influence of pop music onto their signature country sound which has made their music appeal to a much wider audience. I also love that all three members were involved in the creative process of the album as this makes sure that what they released is exactly what they want us to hear. Also, Hilary and Charles’ voices blend together so magically on the record.

What I Didn’t Like: While I really like the pop sound the band have used throughout this record, there are quite a few moments when this move screams of desperation. Are Lady Antebellum that hungry for more sales? Other than that, this is quite a well-polished pop album! Well done, guys!

Best Track: Long Stretch of Love

Rating: 3.5/5
