Review: 22 Jump Street

Best friends forever?

Starring: Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill

Plot: They’ve made it through High School again and now police officers Schmidt and Jenko go to undercover at their local university. Jenko manages to meet a kindrid spirit on the football team and Schmidt starts enjoying the art scene – leading them to question their partnership. Now, the two need to crack the case while figuring out if they can in fact work together. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

Remarks: The film, of course, has the same vibe 21 Jump Street had, however, this one has beat the odds and is actually better than the first. Jonah and Channing have such an awesome connection in the film and it really shows in their work. I liked that many of the characters returned this time around and it really is a feel good movie. Just like the first, the comedy is quite dry – but you can’t help but laugh out loud. I liked that there is so much action in the film. Sure, the film isn’t groundbreaking at all and and the script could have been a lot better but this is a great movie to spend two hours of your life!

Rating: 4/5
