He’s a favourite in many households around the country and Afrikaans pop star Ray Dylan is shaking things up a little with his new single as he drops a powerful ballad titled ‘Laaste Groet’.
This emotional song, which he wrote with Piet Farrell, is about saying goodbye to a loved one and is very relevant in the devastating times we are living in.
“Piet and I have both lost people close to us and have come to realise that time is precious and goes by so quickly,” shares the singer. “The song made me realize that we have to appreciate and support each other in difficult times.”
Ray describes the song as “food for the soul” and believes that people will be able to relate to the lyrics because of the loss and sadness caused by Covid-19. He also hopes that this song will provide some comfort in these difficult times.
Ray Dylan has been in the music industry for thirty-three years and was twelve when he started performing and touring with Bles Bridges. Over the years, he has released several gold and double platinum albums and singles and has become a household name in the Afrikaans music industry.
He is currently working on two new albums and is looking forward to performing again after lockdown.
