It’s been an exciting week for media personality and presenter Pearl Modiadie. Yesterday, the Metro FM radio host gave birth to her first child in what she describes as an “incredibly surreal” experience and now, the popular television series ‘It Takes A Village’ has announced that the presenter will take over the hosting responsibilities for the show from Teko Modise.
Pearl says that she plans on doing things a little differently from Teko and hopes to fix the family relationships of young people in her hometown of Tembisa, specifically troubled men who have been implicated in any questionable acts against women.
When Pearl was asked why focus on rebuilding family structures she says that “Stable relationships with families are great for young people as it can promote self-esteem and a sense of belonging and assist in the development of problem solving and social skills.”
Pearl adds “Family is the most important thing to me. They’re my own support system. Everybody thinks friends are more important, but they’re not. Friends are great, but they’ll come and go. Family is always there.”
The third season of ‘It Takes A Village’ premieres on 30 September at 21h00 on SABC 1.
