Although he said that he won’t be releasing an album anytime soon and would rather release a variety of singles, superproducer Calvin Harris will officially be dropping his new album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 on the 30th of June. The star has already released ‘Slide’ featuring Migos and Frank Ocean which became a massive hit while his latest singles ‘Heatstroke’ featuring Young Thug, Pharrell and Ariana Grande and ‘Rollin’ featuring Future and Khalid failed to accomplish the same response. However, ahead of the album’s release, the DJ dropped an epic album sampler featuring the most beautiful Macaw you have ever seen!
The bird is playing around with a vinyl player which gives us short clips of some of the new tracks we can expect on the record. The album seems to take a more hip-hop approach rather than the dance sound we have become accustomed to and we love the fact that Calvin is pushing boundaries and experimenting in the studio. The sampler also gives us a short teaser to the album’s next single ‘Feels’ which features Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean. The track has caused controversy as Calvin famously dated Taylor Swift – who is in the middle of a massive feud with Katy.
We are stoked to hear what Calvin has in store for us on the upcoming record and from what we’ve heard in the sampler, we’re expecting big things.
