One Republic’s Ryan Tedder has always been one of my favourite artists. Not only is he responsible for some major pop hits over the past decade but he is also a brilliant singer as well. So,naturally, I was excited about One Republic’s new single ‘Wherever I Go’ – and it was worth the wait! The track serves as the lead single to their upcoming fourth studio album which is due in stores later this year.
The song is a perfect reintroduction to the band. The writing this time around is flawless and the production is so crisp. Ryan brings out the emotion in the song while still managing to make it sound like an energetic Top 40 hit. Vocally, Ryan is sounding better than ever and really puts his vocals on display here. The track is bound to be one of their biggest singles to date and also tease a bit more of a fresher sound this time around.
“I’ve been a long-time fan of Miike Snow, so you’ll probably hear a little hint of that kind of melody, you know, it’s very different – the highest notes I’ve ever sang in my life are in this record,” Ryan said on the song. The song is also their shortest single to date being just under three minutes. I have a feeling this song will be on repeat for weeks. Welcome back, boys!
