Friday is my favourite day of the week. Not only is the weekend so close, but it’s the day where all the new music drops around the world! Each week, I will pick my favourite new single releases and introduce you to the very best the music industry has to offer!
Tove Lo – Cool Girl
I have so much respect for this woman as an artist. Her debut album ‘Queen of the Clouds’ was one of my favourite albums of 2014 and now, Tove Lo is ready with her highly anticipated second album. While there aren’t many details available yet, the singer has released the first single off the project and it’s something a little different from her. Is it a good different? Only time will tell.
ZakEmo – Ingane Zabantu (Feat. D.O.G)
He wowed audiences as he placed third in SABC 1’s smash hit reality show ‘1’s And 2’s’ and after announcing that he has been signed to Warner Music South Africa, ZakEmo has teamed up with D.O.G for an epic new single. The African house track is full of energy and has the potential to set clubs all across the country alight.
Afrojack – Gone (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign)
Ever since watching him live at Ultra Festival, Afrojack fast became one of my favourite DJs. He has a few smash hits under his belt and today, he releases a new collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign and, surprisingly, the track steers away from EDM and hip-hop and leans to a more pop direction. This is a banger.
KONGOS – I Want It Free
Their comeback single ‘Take It From Me’ has done really well and today, the KONGOS have released their brand new single ‘I Want It Free’. The song is one of the standouts on their new album ‘Egomaniac’ so I’m very happy with this choice. I am afraid that this sounds almost too much like the previous single, though.
