Friday is my favourite day of the week. Not only is the weekend so close, but it’s the day where all the new music drops around the world! Each week, I will pick my favourite new single releases and introduce you to the very best the music industry has to offer!
Green Day – Bang Bang
Now this is a lovely surprise. American rockers are back and they’ve just announced that their 12th studio album ‘Revolution Radio’ drops in October. To celebrate, the band have released the lead single off the project – a track called ‘Bang Bang’. The track is exactly the high energy we expect from them. The guitar all over the track is sick and the track reminds me exactly why I fell in love with the band all those years ago.
OneRepublic – Kids
If I look back at my favourite songs of 2016, OneRepublic’s ‘Wherever I Go’ sits highly on that list. Now, as they prepare their new album, the band has dropped the next single off the project – ‘Kids’. The song has Ryan Tedder’s fantastic lyrics and beautiful melodies all over it. The group know how to make great pop music and this is yet another example of this.
Khanyi Mbau – Shake
South Africa’s very own queen of bling is back with a new single. It’s been ages since we’ve heard a track from her but she makes her comeback this week as she releases ‘Shake’. As hinted in the single cover, the track has a heavy dancehall influence and is exactly what you would expect from Ms Mbau. Despite the weak lyrics, this is actually a jam.

Bon Jovi – This House Is Not For Sale
Bon Jovi still has it! The American band has been hard at work recording their upcoming fourteenth studio album which is due for release later this year. Today, the band dropped the lead single off the album – a track called ‘This House Is Not For Sale’. The song is lovely mix of pop, rock and country and, naturally, comes with the Bon Jovi attitude and spunk.
