A lot of us turn to Pinterest to help give us ideas for all occasions in life, from party decor to our makeup applications. This year, Pinterest has revealed the top global beauty searches for the past year. Turns out, the ‘au naturale’ look is trending!
Due to the pandemic, people had more time to upload videos onto their Pinterest profiles and save more videos to their accounts. Daily videos grew 150%+ between June 2019 and June 2020.
Here are the interesting statistics:
Natural makeup videos: 62% of Pinners searched for natural makeup videos.
Natural beauty aesthetics: has gone up 9x
Pinners wanted to learn how to execute the perfect ‘Soft glam aesthetic’ (up by 5x), ‘Coloured eyeliner looks’ (up by 3.5x), ‘peach lip gloss’ (up by 42%) as well as one of my personal favourites, the Bold red lipstick looks (up by x2).
Turns out men are also starting to explore new beauty routines to help enhance their grooming and skincare routines.
Hair searches include ‘Black men beard styles’ (up by 3.9x), ‘Greybeards’ (up by 3x), ‘long hairstyles for men’ (up by 25x) as well as ‘curly hairstyles’ (up by 19x).
Skin and beauty searches have also gone up for men. On the rise is ‘creative makeup looks’ (up by 7x) As well as ‘Healthy skincare’ (up by 9x).
These statics are making me ecstatic! I have always been a firm believer in highlighting your natural beauty when it comes to your hair and makeup applications. You do not want to hide your gorgeous features but you want to use makeup and hair products to show off your natural glow and stunning features.
When it comes to the new skincare searches, I am pleased by these results. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body. You must look after it. The best way to do that is the embrace a good skincare routine and your skin will prefer natural products to synthetic. There is less chance of skin reactions if you go for natural, healthy skincare products as well as routines.
Let’s embrace the ‘au naturale’ looks together!
