MTV Africa Music Awards 2015: FULL List of Nominees

It’s that time of the year. MTV Africa is gearing up for their annual music awards (MAMAs) and the journey officially begun tonight as the channel announced the official nominee list. The nominees were announced at an exclusive party at Johannesburg club Harem which was attended by big-shots such as Cassper Nyovest, Bucie and many more. A total of 70 nominees were revealed at the event, across 13 different categories were announced and it was a great night for South African hip-hop!

Cassper Nyovest was nominated for three awards while AKA gets two nods. Nigerian star Davido and South African rockers Prime Circle were also nominated for two awards. Speaking at the event, Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, VIMN Africa, commented, “As Viacom International Media Networks celebrates its first 10 years in Africa, we are thrilled to pay tribute to the dynamism, creativity and passion of all the MAMA 2015 nominees. Applauding music and achievement all over the continent, the MAMA recognises the contribution of both enduring icons on the African music scene, and new and emerging talents of the future.”

The awards will be held live in Durban, South Africa on the 18th of July 2015 and will be hosted by comedian Trevor Noah before he heads to the states to take over Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. Here are the full list of nominees:
