Radio contract renewal time is always a vicious yet exciting time. We’ve already seen some major changes to the line-ups of our favourite radio stations. Thando Thabethe will be making her return to radio as the drive time host on 947, Mantsoe Pout announced she is leaving 947, DJ Sabby has confirmed that he will be leaving YFM after a decade and more.
However, it’s Johannesburg-based 947 announcing the most shake-ups so far. Today, the station announced that 5FM presenter Msizi James will be taking over the station’s 9am – 12pm slot.
“Stoked to be joining 947,” the DJ said confirming the news. “When it come to radio they are the cream of the Crop so when they called me a few weeks ago, I knew had to jump at the opportunity. To the winner goes the spoils. Living in Joburg, this move makes perfect sense.”
This means that the star will be leaving his show on 5FM which he co-hosts with the captivating Stephanie Be. “As you might have heard on the show I’m hanging up my headphones here at 5FM. A week from today will be my last show at the station I grew up listening to and was inspired by,” Msizi says.
Mzisi will be replacing Andy Maqondwana who announced she will be leaving the station today. His first show will be on March 25
