Mo Flava Takes Over Mid Mornings On 947

Radio season is in full swing! After a number of major changes to the local airwaves, Soweto-born Moetie Tsiki, famously known as Mo Flava, has announced that he is joining the 947 family.

The star will be taking over mid mornings from 3 April, and is set to bring all of the flava to listeners every weekday from 9am to 12pm on the station. The move comes after the star spent eight years at Metro FM most recently at the helm of the station’s breakfast show.

Radio has always been a great passion of his, driven by a love for music and deep, soulful sounds and he is excited to bring this energy to a new audience. “I’m looking forward to experiencing every part of the 947 world. I can’t wait to meet the listeners and the 947 team. This is an opportunity for me to do radio at the highest level,” Mo Flava says.

Mo has released a number of electrifying house music compilations and singles, touring at massive festivals and night clubs across the country and internationally.

947 station manager Ravi Naidoo adds that Mo’s vast experience and style makes him the perfect fit for the team.“We look forward to the unique flavour as the station continues to refresh to remain relevant and relatable for our listeners.”

As Mo Flava takes over the midday show, Msizi James, who previously help the slot, will team up with Bolele Polisa on weeknights, Monday to Thursday from 7pm to 10pm.

The show will continue to feature a mix of the latest hit music and engaging content across the show and across the station and its digital platforms.“The duo format has its own magic and we look forward to the combined energy of these two personalities,” Naidoo adds.

947’s incredible presenter line up begins at 6am with Anele and the Club, followed by Mo Flava, Zweli Mbhele, Thando Thabethe, Robert Marawa, and Msizi and Bolele to wrap up the day.

“We believe that the new line-up delivers an enhanced listening value proposition for our current and future listener base, while also providing key opportunities for the advertisers and clients who are critical to our success,” concludes Naidoo.
