It’s been close to two years since Mi Casa dropped their third studio album ‘Home Sweet Home’ and it seems we’ll be getting new music from the group sooner than we thought! In an announcement on their social media today, the group announced that their fourth studio album ‘Familia’ will drop on the 4th of August – and fans couldn’t be happier.
The album has a deep meaning for the group. Over the years they have become a family and prove that family sticks together through the good and the bad. We nearly broke up 4 months ago but managed to really come out stronger than ever before,” the band admitted in a Facebook post. “We would like to celebrate and document this moment in our career in the form of music. We will be releasing a brand new album titled FAMILIA on the 4th of August! We want to thank you for your love and support as a family … we are nothing without you!”
The group’s lead singer, J’Something, has been focusing on building his food empire over the past few months which may have had something to do with their troubled times. He opened his restaurant ‘Something’s Cooking By J’ and has been tapped as a judge on M-Net’s local version of ‘My Kitchen Rules’. However, music is his passion and he’s incredibly excited about the upcoming record. “I am so happy right now,” the chef says. “I am so glad we fought for what we love. We fought as a family and we didn’t become another statistic, we didn’t break up” adding that the record is filled with the “best music we have ever made.”
While the album’s lead single is still being kept under wraps, it’s expected to drop sometime over the next few weeks. This is definitely an exciting chapter for Mi Casa and we can’t wait to see what they have been cooking up in the studio. Mi Casa is here to stay!
