There’s a fresh new face joining the 947 talent line-up this week. Matt Flax will be taking over from Alex Caige on the 947 Drive with Thando show with Thando Thabethe, weekdays from 3pm to 7pm.
He comes from YFM where he was the co-host and executive producer of #HomeRunWithAyandaMVP and before that he hosted and produced the Weekend Lunch.
Flax keeps himself busy with freelance voice work and has had some on-campus experience at Voice of Wits for five years.
He also has a degree in psychology and media studies as well as additional qualifications in social media and radio station management.
Station Manager Ravi Naidoo says, ”Change is inevitable in life and in broadcasting and we view this as part of the dynamic nature of 947 as a station and Primedia Broadcasting as a whole.”
Ravi adds, “While Flax brings a youthful outlook he has many years of professional radio knowledge, skills and experience behind him and I know that he will be an asset to the team.”
Naturally, Matt is thrilled to be joining the station. “I have always followed radio as my preferred career path and it’s an exciting and challenging step up to join the Afternoon Drive on such a popular station and fill the shoes of some great show presenters that have gone before me in this slot,” he says.
