They rocked both Cape Town and Johannesburg back in 2014 and today, The Lumineers announced that they will be bringing their Cleopatra World Tour to South Africa in April 2017! The tour will be in support of their brand new album ‘Cleopatra’ which has been met with rave reviews. The album is the follow-up to their self-titled debut album which spent 46 weeks on The Billboard 200 and peaked at number 2. Today, Big Concerts revealed that the band will be performing in Cape Town on 26th April 2017 at Green Point Park and 28th April 2017 at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.
The Lumineers made it big after releasing their global hit ‘Ho Hey’ which spent 62 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. the band’s follow-up single, “Stubborn Love”, climbed to #1 on the Alternative radio charts and was also featured on President Obama’s Summer Playlist. Now, the band continues it’s journey with ‘Cleopatra’. The album reached number one on the South African iTunes charts as well as topping charts in countries such as the UK, the United States of America and Canada.
The band’s new album comes four years after their debut and, naturally, the band is excited to tour with their new material. Lead singer, Wesley Schultz, says he is excited to “connect with the new record and have people connect with it” on the tour.
