Loreen Makes History As The First Woman To Win Eurovision Twice

We have a new Eurovision champion! Sweden’s Loreen took the world by storm with her new hit ‘Tattoo’, marking Sweden’s seventh win in the competition tying Ireland for most Eurovision victories.

Loreen also becomes the first women to win the competition twice after previously winning with ‘Euphoria’ back in 2012.

“It feels surreal. It feels wonderful. Isn’t it wonderful?” Loreen said after her historic win. “This is so beautiful. One feeling I have in my body that’s taken over is just gratitude. I feel so thankful to all you guys.”

While Loreen won the jury vote, and ultimately the competition. Finland’s Käärijä won the public vote with his hit ‘Cha Cha Cha’, placing him second at this year’s final. Israeli pop sensation Noa Kirel clinched third place with her catchy pop hit ‘Unicorn’.

The show was held in Britain for the first time in more than two decades, after the country – which came second last year – stepped in to handle hosting duties on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine. Hosting honours will go to winners Sweden next year.
