Many know Alexander “LEXLEO” Rawháni as a dentist, jeweler and fashionista but the star is incredibly passionate about music as well. It’s something he has always been upfront about and after working hard on his introduction as a rapper, the star has finally released his debut single – ‘Bafun’ Ukwazi’.
On the track, LEXLEO gives audiences a glimpse into who he is as an artist and as a person. He raps in both English and Xhosa and finds a groove that fits his mould. The star says he fuses elements of Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Acoustic sounds, Gqom, House and EDM into his music. He has also pioneered a unique Afro-Persian sound, amalgamating his African upbringing and Persian roots.
Through his music and lyrics he hopes to break the negative stereotypes in the music industry, positively influence the direction of today’s younger generation, and contribute to the establishment of racial unity, gender equality and universal education – an approach that is very refreshing and necessary in music today.
