K.O. is a star. He understands how to tackle the hip-hop genre and has released some game-changing singles over the past few years. Last year, he released his latest album ‘SR2’ and after getting an overwhelming response from fans around the country, the rapper released ‘MS2 (Mission Statement 2)’ as the next single off the record – and it’s got a hot video to support it!
As the title suggests, the song is a sequel to the hit track ‘Mission Statement’ off K.O’s debut solo album ‘Skhanda Republic’. The song is layed down on smooth, laid-back hip-hop beats which almost take a backseat to allow the rapper’s vocal to shine. Naturrally, K.O dropped some serious bars on the track. The star raps about money, power and respect – a common throughout hip-hop – but although the rapper doesn’t rap about anything new, he delivers solid lyrical content and the flow is something he should be proud of.
Naturally, the video needed to be just as hot as the song – and boy, did K.O deliver! The star opts for a suit instead his signature street style and the look looks great on him. He walks around Johannesburg and oozes ‘money, power and respect’. On the video, K.O tells us that “Ofentse Mwase Films – who also helped me with the No Feelings video – and myself were able to come up with the concept. We wanted to use one single aerial shot, using a drone where the camera descends all the way down to shoulder level all in one sequence. We choreographed the video in such a way that, as soon as the director said ‘Action!’ I would perform the whole track. The drone was programmed in such a way that it was able to capture all the choreography from the beginning to the end. I really always want to do something different.” The track is a banger and we’re glad the star delivered a world-class video to accompany it.
