There’s a new name heating up the local pop space and as he prepares to launch his debut EP ‘Paper Crowns’ later this month, Josh Wantie has just released the music video for his new single ‘Fall Again’. The song is Josh’s first release since he signed with Gallo Records, the same label which houses acts such as Jeremy Loops and The Parlotones.
After hearing the first few beats of the song, you can tell this isn’t your ordinary pop track. Josh beautifully blends tropical house and pop alongside delicate vocals to release something that is out of the ordinary. The production is solid and well thought out. There are a lot of different sounds in and around the track but each beat serves a distinct purpose in the song. Lyrically, Josh has a lot to say but manages to do this in the most uncluttered way possible – something good songwriters need to know how to do.
The song is fresh, catchy and makes a statement. It’s incredibly artistic while still commercial enough to become a radio smash. Josh has delivered a fantastic debut single which will introduce him to local audiences in just the right way. We’re going to be spinning this joint all day and we can’t wait to see what else Josh has in store when his ‘Paper Crowns’ EP releases on the 12th of August.
