Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B and Ariana Grande Dominate The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards: FULL Winners List

The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards took place in New York City earlier this morning and, as usual, was packed with some incredible performances. The show kicked off with Cardi B mimicking breast feeding something the audience thought was her newborn but later revealed to be her moonman award from previous wins. She later received two awards for Best New Artist and Best Collaboration.

Nicki Minaj, who won the Best Hip Hop award for her track Chun Li performed a mashup of her hits “Majesty,” “Barbie Dreams,” “Fefe” and an a cappella bit of “Ganja Burn”, while Best Pop winner Ariana Grande showed audiences that God is a Woman. Minaj, won the Best Hip Hop award for her track Chun Li.

Jennifer Lopez who was honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award – performed a medley of some of her greatest hits including “Waiting for Tonight”, “On the Floor”, “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”, “Jenny From the Block” and tracks that included cameos from DJ Khaled and Ja Rule.

Leading with the most the awards was Childish Gambino who scooped three “moonmen” for his hit “This Is America”, which topped the categories of Video with a Message, Best Direction and Best Choreography – accepted by choreographer Sherrie Silver. Coming in second was a tie between The Carters, Camila Cabello and Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B.
