Janie Bay Picks ‘The Fear Inside’ As Next Single

Janie Bay continues to shine with every release off of her sophomore album ‘Miscellany’. Her recent single ‘Wag Vir Jou’ with Hunter Kennedy proved she has what it takes to deliver hits in both English and Afrikaans and her new single ‘The Fear Inside’ is a testament to that.

The song is a fan-favourite off the record and the obvious next single choice. The song blurs the lines between folk and pop and tackles depression and anxiety we face as human beings. The song is incredibly relateable and expresses feelings we aren’t often able to put into words. Janie’s smooth vocals add a calming element to the song as she uplifts listeners who may be going through an internal battle.

It’s great to see artists dig deep and create music from such a personal place in a way which adapts differently to each listener. “People struggle with all sorts of situations in life and often feel stuck, not being able to speak to anyone about it or feeling afraid to get help,” Janie says. “It is important for people to know that they are not alone and there’s always someone willing to help and that we can all relate to one another.”

Janie dropped an eerie lyric video to accompany the track which captures the mood of the song perfectly. The video was conceptualised by Janie and was shot in Kaapsehoop, Mpumalanga and adds a great element to heighten the emotion in the song. It’s great to see artists spreading the message of support and positivity through their music. The song is available on Janie’s new album ‘Miscellany’ which is available in store and on all major streaming services right now.
