There has been a string of international act announcements over the past few months and it seems the influx of international artists visiting our shores isn’t about to stop anytime soon. Today, James Morrison announced that he will be touring South Africa for the very first time in January 2019 – and we’re so excited!
The two-city concert tour begins at Montecasino’s Teatro with 8pm concerts on Tuesday, 22 January and Wednesday, 23 January thereafter moving to Cape Town’s Kirstenbosch Garden for one concert only at 7pm on Saturday, 26 January 2019.
“I’m super excited to be heading to South Africa for a few shows next year! It’ll be my first time playing there and my first gigs in a little while, can’t wait to play in Johannesburg and then with the mountains as the backdrop in Cape Town’s Botanical Garden,” an ecstatic James tells us.
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter has now sold 4.5 million copies of his three albums, performed four world tours including sold-out shows to thousands at London’s Hyde Park, supporting both Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder and appeared on Herbie Hancock’s Grammy-winning album ‘The Imagination Project’.
Over the past few months, James has been working on a brand-new album that is expected to include his most honest and powerful set of songs yet. To be released next year, the album explores his relationship, being a father and his family, as well as his experiences with dark times and light.
The star is responsible for hits like ‘You Give Me Something’, ‘Up’, ‘Broken Strings’, ‘Wonderful World’, ‘Please Don’t Stop The Rain’ and many more and the star is looking forward to playing these songs and many more in Mzansi next year.
