Local beauty Jade Hübner wears many hats. She is a SABC3 Top Billing presenter, musician, actress, MC and model and continues to push her passion for the entertainment industry. Earlier this year, Jade released her debut single ‘Just Let Me’ and now, she has finally released the track’s official music video.
The song is all about the excitement around a new relationship. However, Jade connected to the song because of the constant prejudices that come with being in the limelight. “Some people seem to think that just because they have seen me on television or are an acquaintance of mine, that they know me rather let me in and let me be me; then you can see the real me,” she says.
The song is a bizarre release for a lead single in the way that it’s not the most radio-friendly single. However, the stripped down track, which simply features Jade behind a piano, gives us an indication of her raw vocal talent. “Words can’t express how special this is to me,” Jade explains. “My official first song, 15 years of working towards this moment and learning the piano to perform it myself, it’s definitely one of my proudest moments and one of my greatest achievements; right up there with becoming a Top Billing presenter, playing a lead in an international horror film and acting in a television series with Russell Peters.”
