There’s an exciting new radio station ready to make its debut on Johannesburg’s airwaves. As HOT919 makes the shift to commercial radio station, rebranding as HOT1027, STARFM will be moving to the popular 91.9FM frequency.
The radio station will officially make its debut on 1 July 2021 and has an exciting range of familiar faces taking over the weekday breakfast to drive slots.
This new community station is youth-driven and is targeting the 18 to 34 age group – something that will help this station become a unique and interesting player in the local radio game.
Everyone’s famous duo Greg And Lucky will serve as the station’s breakfast hosts every weekday from 06:00 for a show that promises to be humourous, inclusive and real.
This will be followed by Mzi from 09:00 to midday. From entertainment to informative and inspirational topics, Mzi will strive to bring a different dynamic, ensuring listeners feel like they have a companion in radio that understands their needs.
Then, ‘Star Lunch’ will be hosted by the eclectic Mantsoe Pout from midday to 15:00 who will bring her bubbly personality to the forefront.
The station’s drive show will be driven by popular radio jock Justin Toerien who will be joined by Sibs every 15:00 to 18:00/
STARFM 91.9’s programme manager Caren Du Preez says, “Excitement is an understatement, as the first of July approaches. We’re gearing up to ‘expose’ you to the coolest new radio station to hit Jo’burg’s Northern Suburbs. We aim to be different, inclusive, hot, trend-setting, authentic, professional and, more importantly, we want our listeners to feel like they are truly a part of this amazing journey. I’m confident that our STAR team will fast become the firm favourite in the radio firmament.”
Listeners are encouraged to catch STARFM on 91.9 and online.
