After making a name for themselves in the local indie pop scene over the past few years, the Grassy Spark folk have hit the big time as they have just signed their first record deal with South African indie label Gallo Music. The band, who has released hits such as ‘Living In Paradise’ and ‘Waste Of Time’ are putting the finishing touches on their new music which will be released through the label – and, naturally, they’re so excited.
“So after about a year and a half of straight chysing one another, we’ve officially joined forces with Gallo Record Company – SA’s largest independent label, who are also a division of Times Media, and have worked with some major music icons such as Lucky Dube the King of Reggae, Jeremy Loops, Mango Groove, Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse & more,” the band announced on our Facebook page. The band also announced that their upcoming debut album is closer than we think! Yup, the album, tited ‘Portal’ will be released next month and will release their new single ‘Here I Am’ later this month.
“We couldn’t be more happier with the deal, and from here onward we’ll be working as a team to make sure our journey with you is as epic as that scene in ‘Interstellar’ when they going through that wormhole nommer,” the band added. “Feeling excited. Feeling Lekka. Feeling Successful. Onward & Up!”
