GOODLUCK Drop Video For Breezy New Single ‘Waiting For Summer’

Local electronic act GOODLUCK were inspired to do something a little differently during lockdown and reworked some of their biggest hits as they embarked on their next studio album ‘Up Close’. Fan-favourite ‘Saved By The Summer’ was released as the second single and now, the group have dropped the track’s official music video.

Retitled as ‘Waiting For Summer’, the song has all the beach feels reminiscent of sunsets with friends around a fire as the sun goes down. The group says they were inspired by Jack Johnson’s sound to create something unique and completely different from anything they’ve released before.

The video sees lead singer Juliet Harding enjoying time alone on the beach playing a ukulele and living her best life as she connects with the ocean.

The star admits that getting infront of the camera in her swimming costume was a daunting task. “It took a lot for me to get in front of the cameras in my swimming costume. I have never been a size 8, I guess I always wanted to be a size 10 and recently, life without shows has made it hard to keep weight off (cause you know how much I used to jump around) so I was feeling all kinds of insecure when we finally filmed that video,” Juliet candidly says of her time filming the video.

“In my mind I saw how beautifully the summer imagery would be but somehow I didn’t feel like I fitted into that picture… but you know what I’ve realised it’s all rubbish,” she continues. “I have no idea where this ingrained idea of which body shape is acceptable or attractive came from but I am not holding onto it anymore. I will love this body no matter what state it’s in… maybe a little extra chunky or maybe fit and lean it just doesn’t matter. I think the music video turned out really beautifully and I hope that it inspired any women to feel that they can do their thing no matter what size they are. For the first time I have been brave enough to rock my curves and I’m really really glad I did!”

‘Up Close’ is set to drop on digital music platforms on 2 April 2021 and will feature eight reimagined tracks.
