Fokofpolosiekar have cemented themselves as one of the pioneers of South African rock music and over the years, the group has amassed quite the following. However, despite lead singer Francois Van Coke enjoying success as a solo artist, the group has continued to reach an outstanding amount of success with their music and other business ventures.
Recently, the group launched Fokof Lager – their own beer range – and now, Francois reveals that soon fans will be able to drink the beer at the band’s very own live music venue and bar aptly titled Fokof Bar.
Francois revealed that construction has already begun on the band’s exciting new concept and that doors to Fokof Bar are expected to open in it’s Pretoria venue later this year. The project is collaboration with Fokof Lager’s Jaco Snakehead Venter and Arcade Empire’s Robert Pereira which gives the venue a solid foundation.
Meanwhile, Francois has been incredibly busy. The star recently released his brand new EP ‘En Vriende’ and is also working hard in preparation for his upcoming headline show at Times Square Arena in Menlyn Maine next month. The show sees the star join forces with some fellow heavyweights in the local music industry like Die Heuwels Fantasties, Jack Parow, Majozi, Karen Zoid, Arno Carstens and, of course, his Fokofpolisiekar family. Tickets for this extravaganza, which takes place on September 15, are on sale now at Computicket.
Are you excited to check out Fokof Bar when it opens later this year? Let us know.
